…that’s what the media in Kolkata, India, recently dubbed the grand wedding of Ron Ray to his beautiful bride, Michelle Hagan.
Ray, who has been an office client at BusinesSuites Hughes Center in Las Vegas since December 2002, runs a successful financial services firm – Ray Financial. He has also directed/produced movies and acted with one of Bollywood’s biggest stars, Hrithik Roshan and Mexico’s superstar, Barbara Mori in an action movie called KITES which was partially filmed in Las Vegas and released in 95 countries theatrically a few years ago (the movie is currently available on iTunes and Netflix).
In an interesting mix of cultural backgrounds, Ray, who is Indian, and Hagan, who is of French and Vietnamese decent, met five years ago when she was living in Hawaii. Fate had him run into her again while she was in Las Vegas for a conference. She works in software sales, selling render management software to large movie studies, so she was often in Vegas. At that time, he had a girlfriend so they kept in touch as friends. When Ray’s relationship ended, he started spending time with Hagan, still as friends, but they did eventually end up dating and Ray asked her to move to Las Vegas.
After 3 years of dating, on October 23, 2011, Ray proposed. Thinking that they were at Marrakech Restaurant to celebrate Ray’s 42nd birthday, Hagan was confused when she found a gorgeous engagment ring in one of the gift boxes that she had helped open. Then she was stunned as the birthday boy dropped to one knee and proceeded to propose to her in front of all their friends. Ray shares, “Lucky for me, she said yes. She was completely surprised.”
Because Ray’s father is very ill and cannot travel, they decided to get married in Kolkata, India. The wedding was held at The Park Hotel, the largest and most prominent hotel in Kolkata. It was a lavish affair attended by Bollywood celebrities from Mumbai, India, which is considered the Hollywood of India.
On the wedding day, a portion of The Park Hotel caught on fire. It made national news as media, city authorities and policians visited the scene. Unfortunately, the fire caused the wedding to be delayed for 3 hours. However, the photographers and videographers had more than the fire to cover — they were captivated by Hagan’s transformation into a stunning traditional Indian bride. The wedding was covered and dubbed as a true fairy tale wedding.
After returning from a honeymoon in Dubai, Ron Ray commented, “For us, family and loyalty is of utmost importance, and BusinesSuites and it’s staff has always been like family to us both. As soon as we got back, we had to share all our pictures with our family here at BusinesSuites.”
